 A SMALL SELECETION OF ITEMS FOR SALE AT OUR NEXT PENSILVA FAIR

 

 

      E M Antiques will be bringing a rare early nineteenth century mahogany four tier spice tower featuring original labels for ginger / mace / cloves /nutmeg.  The item is in wonderful original condition and measuring approx. 7" high and 3" wide and is priced at £155. (Photo)

 

     E M Antiques will be bringing a beautiful eighteenth century Newcastle style wine glass from c1770, the half fluted round funnel bowl with floral engraving, on opaque twist stem, standing on domed foot, and standing at 6".  This wonderful item is priced at £250 (Photo)

 

     E M a Georgian silver snuff box dated 1801 by London silversmith William Pitts in barrel form, will be available on EM Antiques stand. William Pitts who entered his mark at goldsmiths hall in 1786, made this snuff box whilst working from his workshop at 15, Little Wild Street, Lincolns Inn Fields. This beautiful antique will ask £185.

 

Gemini Collectables will be bringing a selection of Moorcroft including a Ginger Jar from the Blue on Blue series designed by Philip Gibson circa 2002 standing 6½" high – price £245. (Photo)

     Gemini Also on this stand will be a Midwinter Coffee Set, circa 1950 comprising a Coffee Pot, Milk Jug, Sugar Basin, 6 cups and 6 saucers.  Roy Midwinter introduced Stylecraft, a classic example of 1950s contemporary ceramics in 1952 after a visit to the U.S.A. – price £39.

    Pirate Antiques will be bringing an interesting silver trophy of motoring interest.  The cup hallmarked for Sheffield 1967 from makers Mappin and Webb depicts a world map at the base of it, there is no engraving on the cup only on a plaque on the stand which reads MOBIL ECONOMY RUN 1968 1ST. CLASS 1 CARS BETWEEN 500cc - 1000cc.  There is also a Mappin and Webb makers label insert on the stand.  An unusual item measuring 6.5" in height including stand and priced at £125

  

     Pirate Antiques will be bringing a large Keswick copper tray from the Arts and Crafts period, with repousse decoration of scrolling leaves and flowers.  The tray has the impressed Keswick stamp KSIA, has wonderful patina and measures 19" x 10", priced at £180.

 

  Pirate Antiques will be bringing a very weighty silver salver/plate fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1902 and bearing makers mark TB & S.  Measuring 9.5" across with reeded border bearing a family crest priced at £220

 

  Pirate Antiques will be bringing an interesting grain measure size to measure half bushel, the item is unusually made of metal all round with riveted metal banding top, sides and base and 2 metal handles.  The brass plaque on the front reads HALF BUSHEL and there is a lead seal stamped GR 490 T14.  Measuring 12" high x 11" across and priced at £78.

Mike Trafford will be bringing a Satin Walnut Combination Wardrobe with two bevelled mirror doors, central two door cupboard with carved panels and recess area with two   short and three long drawers below. 72" wide 81.5"high 19.75" deep £890. (Photo)

Mike Trafford will be bringing an Edwardian Serpentine fronted two drawers figured mahogany cupboard with central recess and supported on splayed feet. 24"wide 30"high 18.25" deep £285

Will also be bringing an early 20th century nest of three tables in solid mahogany with burr walnut veneered and moulded tops and supported on cabriole legs 20"wide 21" high 13.5" deep £165

 

  EM Antiques will be bringing a beautiful stationery box c1870 with internal compartments and a domed lid made from Coromandel wood which is a very expensive and rare wood which was imported into Britain during the nineteenth century to produce quality items of small furniture. The wood is very dark with yellowish stripes, or brown mottling in the grain and is a very hard wood. The wood is complimented by brass binding and is approx 9" x 6"x 5" and is offered at £245

 

Curios Galore will be bringing a very early Copper Tray by J and F Poole Ltd of Hayle having flared corners and measuring 18" x 12" with a depth of 2" – price £70.

Also on this stand will be a Midwinter Coffee Set, circa 1950 comprising a Coffee Pot, Milk Jug, Sugar Basin, 6 cups and 6 saucers.  Roy Midwinter introduced Stylecraft, a classic example of 1950s contemporary ceramics in 1952 after a visit to the U.S.A. – price £39.

Together with a selection of items from the Abbot Pottery, Newton Abbot designed by Caroline Smith.  The factory closed in 2007; all items depict sheep with prices ranging from £6. To £42. Including a large jug measuring 9" high – price £39.

  EM Antiques will be bringing an unusual Georgian air twist drinking glass from the period 1730; these glasses are remarkable for the variety of patterns which could be produced through the ingenuity and astonishing skill employed in making them. At least eighty types of pattern have been recorded. Standing at approx 5" and from the c1730 period this rare example will be offered at £220

Will also have a WMF matchbox holder classic art nouveau whiplash design again fully marked to base with Ostrich WMF mark priced £165 Another WMF a pair of vases fully marked 2 base WMF and Ostrich marks nice raised decoration 12” priced £225
