A SMALL SELECTION OF ITEMS AT OUR NEXT FAIR 

 

The fair runs from 9.30 a.m. until 3.30 pm. There will be 105 stands carrying a mix of Antiques and Collectables plus 4 furniture stands.

 The first Antique and Collectors Fair of 2010 was held Sunday 7th January  

 

 1 Chapel Antiques will be bringing an unusual find of Exeter Silver, a Victorian Cake Slice with an ornate case handle with a pierced blade 8 inches [20cm] in length with Hallmarks for Exeter 1847 by the Bristol Makers Robert James & Josiah Williams and priced at £285 (photo)

 

2 Chapel Antiques will be bringing a fine Exeter Geo IV solid silver Meat Skewer with a ring terminal.  The skewer measures 11.5 inches long with Hallmarks for Exeter 1822 by the Exeter Maker George Turner, priced at £325 (photo)   

 

 3   Chapel Antiques will be bringing a very good example of a mid Victorian brooch in the form of a ribbon design.  Made from silver from the Combmartin silver mine North Devon by Henry Ellis with full hallmarks for Exeter 1847, priced at £425 (photo)

 Henry Samuel Ellis was the inventor of the “safety brooch,” which designed with a completely secure catch.  Patented in 1847, it utilizes a clever safety bolt that slides back and forth.

 

 4 Toogoods Antiques and Collectables will be bringing a fine, large silver jewellery box with tortoiseshell and silver pique lid.  The box is lined with red velvet and fully hallmarked to lid   and base for London 1908 with makers mark for William Comyns.  The box stands on 4 very substantial and decorative silver feet.  Priced at £1495 (photo)

 

 Toogoods Antiques and Collectables will also be bringing a 1918 Birmingham hallmarked silver and tortoiseshell jewellery box of oval form on cabriole legs.  Priced at £395 (photo)

 

Toogoods Antiques and Collectables will also be bringing a large silver goblet hallmarked for Exeter 1877 by maker Josiah Williams; the goblet has decoration all round it with an engraved cartouche.  Price £395 (photo) 

 

5  John Galloway will be bringing a pink 5ct Tourmaline ring in rub-over setting, the large Tourmaline is surrounded by 18 grain set diamonds of approximately half a carat.  Mounted on 18ct yellow gold and priced at £1750 (photo)

 

 John Galloway will also be bringing will be bringing an amethyst and diamond ring, the amethyst is 2.5cts and the diamonds total ¼ct, both in rub-over setting and 18ct gold split shoulders.  Priced at £1650

 

6 SE Antiques will be bringing a large boxed silver hallmarked shoe buckle circa 1785, maker thought to be Christopher Haines.  Priced at £125 (photo)

 

7 SE Antiques will be bringing a silver cream jug of helmet shape standing on a pedestal base, the jug measures 6 inches in height and is fully hallmarked for Hester Bateman London 1781.  Price £320 (photo)

 

8 SE Antiques will be bringing a very pretty ormolu study of a seated whippet upon an ebony base.  Lovely detail on the whippet including collar.  The item measures 5 inches in height and is priced at £95 (photo)

 

9 SE Antiques will be bringing silver and cut glass perfume bottle hallmarked for Birmingham 1910, the bottle measures 9 inches in height and is priced at £110 (photo)

 

10 Baroque will be exhibiting a country pine dresser, with two frieze drawers and double cupboard below and a twin shelf plate rack above. Measuring 80 inches high by 16 deep and a width of 38, priced at £ 245.00. (Photo)

 

11 Baroque Will also bring a set of six walnut arts and crafts dining chairs with drop in seats £200 (photo)

 

 12 Baroque will be bringing Victorian carved buffet and earlier side table will also be on offer on Baroque’s stand priced at around £ 200.00 each.  Nick will also be on hand to give free furniture valuations and estimates for restorations. £200 (Photo)

 

13 Newlyn Antiques will be bring a Irish Dublin stamped 1834 chop or aspagus servers weighing 8oz (photo)

14 Newlyn Antiques will also have a Art Nouveau belt or neck chain each link stamped
